Jeff Martin former front man of Canadian rock group The Tea Party, I discovered these guys during the mid 90's and though for the most part an underrated gem from an independent genre some of their songs were hit or miss, though Jeff Martin's very distinctive singing voice is a signature of the greatness that was and still is in his solo career.

Sesame's Treat ;)

I think when we all first saw this we thought, wow, Elmo really has not only completely taken over Sesame St, but invaded the collective subconscious of the pop culture zeitgeist... Ok perhaps I'm reading too much into it. Elmo is EVERYWHERE! Like some dehorned fuzzy incubus he went from cute side character to the main focus through which stories involving a pet goldfish and counting were told. 

Oh and beyond that introduction it's Pop Culture Pin Up Princess time!!! It's winter here at the moment so I figured since I'm doing much more studio work I'd include this Katy Perry caricature from her appearance on Saturday Night Live! So not a moment too soon here's Miss June!

In the years prior to not only the introduction of the iphone but the app Draw Something there was a little illustration project that made it to the concept phase but unfortunately not much further. This is one of the examples of how a great idea can be put on hold. Indefinitely. 

Ah well I still had fun with it.

Anyone around during the early days of the American Idol phenomenon will instantly recognise the face of delusion and hope. Famous for a so bad it's good audition where he performed the Ricky Martin song "She Bangs" and subsequently shot to international superstardom in the category of "liked ironically"

Seal performing...

Seal Henry Olusegun Olumide Adeola Samuel, better known to the world as "Seal" he sings awesome ballads, he marries, then divorces supermodels, judges other singing wannabes and has cool facial scars! I discovered him when the movie Batman Forever came out, and at first the song "Kiss from a Rose" didn't grab me by comparison to U2's "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me" which was more a classic Batman rock song. Seal sang a more timeless and heartfelt song which as grown on me since- yes it has been 17 years but hey.
