LIL SPAWNY 2010- 2012

Every now and then I find an old sketch or unfinished idea that I just can't help but either rework or complete, either out of principle, curiosity or boredom. Growing up Spawn was one of my favourite comic book heroes and, in more of a nostalgic capacity, still is. I initially drew this piece back in 2010 and was never really happy with the original drawing, fortunately I'm old school when it comes to my craft and always have a hardcopy back-up of just about everything I've done so reworking this piece was relatively painless plus, the way I see it is-sure I'll go totally digital when they build a USB storage device that doesn't turn feral after 1 transfer! 

This piece was part of an original collection of pop culture homages kind of a love letter to the 80's and 90's caricaturing the creations of that era.

This piece is a WIP I fixed up in an afternoon- the finishing touches coming soon.

This is the Chalk Urban Art festival 2011, a competition I joined and was featured in the short film documentary in the first minute- the guy with the beanie and the lady killer smile.

Birth of Venus inspired this one, from an unused sketch for a proposed mural drawing these are always fun in that challenging, oh wow I can do this! Sort of way.

Kenny vs Spenny Ed Dyer 2012

Kenny vs Spenny I stumbled across probably the most kickass cable show back in the early mid 2000's and it really is one of the funniest shows I've ever seen. The show's premise is simple, the two aforementioned titular hosts compete in various random competitions everything from who can stand up the longest to who's better with women to who can stay the longest blindfolded. Not only is it hilarious but really writing about the show does it little justice; as not only is the criminally insane mastermind Kenny (Kenneth Hotz) truly a diabolical lateral thinker but the reactions he can illicit from his gullible, stupid, neurotic, paranoid idiot friend Spenny (Spencer Rice) are some of the best reality television since Jackass. I can't stress this enough, WATCH THIS SHOW!!!
