Domino's Best: A Fan Art
Domino from X-Men, I still am not entirely sure what her powers are, but her costume is pretty cool, drew this one back in 2019 before the lock-down.

I loves me some Bioshock, seriously if any game was going to give the first person shooter a distinct look and feel this would have to be the twist. Though not a game changer per se it was definitely a changed game macabre, surreal and well paced I'm totally looking forward to Bioshock Infinite.

I Forgot I made these...!
Not to put too finer point on it but I'm somewhat prolific, and no this isn't me blowing my own trumpet here just saying that in the high energy of a gig the flow of the park and the other stuff I draw there are some that simply never get the attention they deserve.
I taught myself how to draw "old school" which is on paper and with a pencil, I do have an ipad convenient though it is can not quite match the feel and texture of traditional drawing. That being said some of the pieces I do for practice, to emulate a style I admire or just for me don't make it on top the blog much less online at all mostly because I run out of time- think of it like:
For starters if you've been following my posts, at least the ones from last year you'd have noticed my Pin Up drawings- and you've also probably noticed the lack of the girly drawings in the closing months of 2012. So I dug around in my collection of originals and found some sketches.

Obscure Celebrity Caricatures Month 1, Where for art thou Chromeo?

| they kind of look like members of the band Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem from the Muppet show. |

| From the original Muppet show, except for Animal I had no idea the other band members had names. |
Today a rough pencil drawing on the back of an unused registration form it's Dave 1 (David Macklovitch) and P-Thugg (Patrick Gemayel) of the band CHROMEO. I discovered these guys on an episode of Live from Daryl Hall's House.

Rorschach, iPad sketch book sessions
![]() |
| Not exactly so much a caricature as an experiment, seeing spots in front of your eyes. |
I drew this one on Sketchbook Pro, I have Sketchbook Express but as the "Lite" version it doesn't quite have all the things I normally use, however it did have the rather interesting mirror image default which was not only fun to draw with but surprisingly therapeutic.
Rorschach was by far one of my favourite characters in The Watchmen, the movie adaptation was actually pretty faithful though it omitted a lot of extra stuff (it would have had to be a 3 part epic if that had happened) and of course I say this in the hindsight of one who quite often watches the film before reading the book (or comic) it was initially based on. I did read the comic (or graphic novel, technically) a few years later and it's one of those true game changers that blew me away-- Once again late to the party, but worth it showing up.
I stumbled upon this video, it's a little grainy but seriously the end result is, in home made kind of way even more impressive than the original CGI mask.

Oh Daenery Girl Miss August
Meet Miss August Daenerys Targaryen, from the show Game of Thrones (something else I never get around to actually watching, but hey) this one is more an honourable mention from the Sketch book sessions rather than a completed piece as this month has been somewhat chaotic. Stylistically I was going for something reminiscent of Paul Kidby on the part of the dragon in particular.

Superman from the Sketchbook Sessions 2011
It's been a while since I posted as this week has been punctuated with building a new studio, it's amazing how much stuff you actually have until you begin to move it around, the late George Carlin put it perfectly as: "a house is just a place to keep your stuff while you go out and buy more stuff".
In this piece I wanted Supes emerging from a smoking crater scratched up and powdered with debris after being unceremoniously hurled into a condemned building from a great height, Clint Eastwood inspired the expression.
More to come soon once the studio is up and running along with footage new concept work and the Pop Culture Pin Up Princess Miss August!

The Sketchbook Sessions- Old School 2003
This is an old one from my days as a student back in 2003- one of the first sketchbook sessions, before I even bothered calling it that. Basically using simple line work is preferred in cartoons as it communicates the messages much clearer and simpler but really it's just easier to draw.
Also, Happy Mother's Day. :D

The Sketchbook Sessions Iron Man caricature Ed Dyer 2012
From the Sketchbook Sessions it's Iron Man, I was always a fan of masked superheroes growing up and as a kid making masks was one of my hobbies, I always found it totally enhanced the playtime experience and really it was just fun to do. The idea and premise of Iron Man as a character really is fantastic and is, in many ways the Marvel comics answer to Bat Man. A super rich 1% bachelor wants to give back to the community, however charitable philanthropy is always more awesome when said billionaire dons super powered battle armour and fights the forces of evil.
